The Design
“Purl welts for a sculptural effect.”
We noticed that some knitters were knitting the cowl from our Churchmouse Classics Easy Folded Poncho separately and that gave us an idea. Why not double the cowl's circumference for an infinity loop that you can wear long and elegant, or twist double for twice the cozy? We added purl welts for a sculptural effect. And, while we were at it, we two-toned it for clever reversibility!
Knit in the round in Blue Sky Fibers , a 100% alpaca yarn with superior softness. Solids and heathered melange colors mix and match beautifully—or indulge and immerse yourself in one shade for the entire project. Equally at home over tee shirt and denim, or paired with a pretty dress!

NEEDLES
US 6 (4mm) 16–24"/40–60cm circular, or size to obtain gauge.
One US 8 (5mm) needle, or two sizes larger than gauge needle, for bind-off.
GAUGE
Approx. 20 sts = 4"/10cm in stockinette stitch in the round, blocked.
KNITTER'S NOTES
A quick gauge swatch could prove very helpful on this project. Alpaca carries with it wonderful drape, but also a weightiness. With a large number of stitches to cast on and join in the round, you'll want to be sure beforehand that your gauge is accurate and pleasing on your needle size.
